On the morning of November 1, 2025, the “Connecting Intelligence, Creating the Future” AIoT-Driven Smart Sensor Industry Development Forum, co-hosted by the World Artificial Intelligence and IoT Innovation Alliance (WAIA), was successfully held at the China IoT International Innovation Park (WeiNa Park) in Wuxi High-Tech Zone. This forum, part of the 2025 World IoT Expo “IoT China – Wuxi Tour” series, marks a key她 milestone in WAIA’s efforts to promote the integration of AIoT technologies with the smart sensor industry.
The event gathered over 80 industry leaders, experts, and company representatives from 26 provinces and regions across China to discuss the integration and future development of AIoT technology and smart sensors.
Xu Dong, Deputy Director of the Wuxi High-Tech Zone Administrative Committee and Deputy Mayor of Xinwu District, highlighted in his speech that as China’s “No.1 IoT Zone,” Wuxi High-Tech Zone hosts over 1,700 IoT enterprises, with an industrial output exceeding RMB 300 billion—accounting for approximately two-thirds of the city and one-third of the province. The smart sensor sector alone comprises over 100 core enterprises with a combined output exceeding RMB 60 billion, providing a solid industrial foundation for the establishment and operation of WAIA’s Wuxi Branch. Xu emphasized that the High-Tech Zone will continue to promote the integration of talent, capital, technology, and data, and strengthen industry-academia-research-finance collaborations with WAIA and “IoT China” members.
Zhang Tao, Secretary-General of the IoT China Organizations Joint Committee and President of Henan IoT Industry Association, highlighted that IoT China comprises nearly 40 IoT organizations across Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, with the mission to “gather intelligent power and foster emerging industries.” He expressed the willingness to work with WAIA to serve as both an industrial“connector” and an ecosystem “catalyst.”
During the inauguration ceremony, WAIA Secretary-General Sun Erxi, Prof. Mao Guoqiang from Southeast University’s Intelligent Driving and Smart Transportation Research Center, Ding Yang, Yang Yuanbin, Chairman of Wuxi WeiNa Industrial Development Co., Ltd., and Zhang Tao jointly unveiled the WAIA Wuxi Branch.
Following the ceremony, experts, association leaders, and company representatives engaged in discussions on AIoT-smart sensor integration, ecosystem innovation, application scenarios, and global market expansion, providing valuable insights for attendees. In the business matchmaking session, more than 20 participating companies explored cooperation opportunities in IoT and smart sensor technologies.
As a non-profit international industry organization initiated by AIoT associations, leading enterprises, and over a hundred experts from 15 countries and regions, WAIA is committed to its vision of “Intelligent Connectivity, Global Win-Win.” It promotes AIoT innovation, standards coordination, international collaboration, and market interconnectivity, building a new global AI+IoT industrial ecosystem.
Looking ahead, WAIA will continue to leverage top-tier technology, industrial resources, and ecosystem partners, covering the entire chain from innovation to project implementation, market expansion, capital enablement, and standards co-development. The Wuxi Branch at WeiNa Park will harness WAIA’s global network to advance Wuxi’s AIoT ecosystem, strengthen international resource connectivity, and facilitate collaborative and sustainable development in the local and global AIoT industry.
