[Past Review] 2025 – Embark on a Global Journey with the World AIoT Innovation Alliance (WAIA)

The World AIoT Innovation Alliance (WAIA) aims to unite upstream and downstream AIoT industry associations and leading enterprises across the globe, establishing a world-class non-profit industry cooperation platform. As one of the founding members, Quadrant has actively supported and participated in the alliance’s preparation, working closely with ecosystem partners to build membership recruitment channels.

WAIA integrates the strengths and capabilities of industry players worldwide, forming a collaborative ecosystem to match resources precisely and foster cross-border cooperation. The alliance is committed to promoting AIoT technology applications, research and development, innovation, standardization, and market expansion, with the vision of realizing “Intelligent Connectivity, Global Prosperity.”

WAIA Launch Ceremony

On August 28, 2024, nearly 100 representatives from AIoT industry associations, leading enterprises, and government agencies across 15 countries and regions—including China, the United States, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macao—jointly initiated the WAIA launch ceremony at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center.

WAIA Membership Categories

WAIA has established four divisions to connect the entire AIoT industry chain:

• Organizational Division

• Business Cooperation Division

• Industry Services Division

• Academic & Research Institutions Division

These divisions collaborate to advance global AIoT application cooperation, research innovation, standards formulation, and market development.

Future Development Goals

• Industry Organization Members: Expand to over 150 global organizations across major regions including the US, Europe, Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.

• Business Cooperation Members: Grow to 1,100 enterprise members (100 large corporations, 1,000 SMEs) and link with over 10,000 global integrators, software developers, and distributors.

• Industry Services Members: Engage 100 professional service providers in legal, IP, certification, marketing, logistics, and tax advisory to support global expansion.

• Experts & Research Institutions: Invite 550 experts and scholars to contribute to global AIoT research and application strategies.

• Government & Official Bodies: Establish partnerships with 100+ government and international standardization organizations.

Past Activities

Following its launch, WAIA has rapidly expanded its footprint with events in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Thailand, co-hosted with local founding members such as the Hong Kong IoT Association, Thailand IoT Association, and Asia Automatic Identification Association. These events gathered key local industry players and government representatives, laying the foundation for cross-border partnerships.
